Frequently asked questions
Do I need massage experience or a medical background?
No. The courses are open to anyone aged 18 and over, no background needed. The online module before arrival and the entry test are required: they bring the whole group to the same starting line.
What language is the teaching in?
English. The doctors and therapists teach in English directly, and the online lectures are recorded in English. A school coordinator stays with the group throughout the course.
What certificate will I receive?
The certificate is issued by the clinic where you trained, listing the syllabus, the number of hours and the result of the final exam.
Will I be able to work after the course?
The month-long course trains you as a bodywork practitioner: a full session, from greeting the client to aftercare advice. Where and how you can work depends on the laws of your country; we cover this in the block on building a practice.
How does the two-week course differ from the month-long one?
The two weeks are the first two weeks of the month-long program: hand technique, abhyanga, shirodhara, oil making. The month adds the Kerala classics, panchakarma, client intake and a final exam.
How many people are in a group?
Up to 20. You practice in pairs, and the group goes to clinical observation in small teams.
What is included in the course fee?
Training, the online module, accommodation, meals, study materials, the exam and the certificate. Flights, visa, insurance and personal treatments are extra.
How do I book a place and how do I pay?
After a personal call, a €100 deposit secures your place, and the balance is paid on arrival. You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, by bank transfer (SWIFT or SEPA) or in USDT.
Can I come just for panchakarma, without the training?
Yes. Panchakarma is a separate program of 7 to 28 days in Varkala (from €575) or in Rishikesh (from $550). The doctor prescribes your program after an examination, and we agree on dates over the messenger.
Can I have panchakarma during the course?
Yes. The daily schedule has slots for personal treatments, in the morning before breakfast and in the evening after classes. Treatments are prescribed by the doctor and paid separately.
Who should not have panchakarma?
Pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with acute infections or fever, serious heart conditions, during active cancer treatment, or with severe exhaustion. The final decision rests with the clinic's doctor, so send a list of your diagnoses and medicines before the trip.
I take medication. Should I stop it?
No. Don't stop anything on your own. Send the list of your medicines to the doctor before you arrive, and they will take them into account when prescribing treatments.
What visa do I need?
Most nationalities can travel on an Indian e-Visa, applied for online in advance. The right type depends on your citizenship and the length of your trip; when you get in touch we'll advise you and send step-by-step instructions.
What is the food like on the course?
Vegetarian Ayurvedic food, three meals a day on the daily schedule. During panchakarma, the doctor prescribes a personal diet.
Is it safe to travel on my own?
You live where you study, together with the group, with the school coordinator and staff close by. Kerala is a calm state with high literacy and well-developed healthcare.
